Hygine & Desinfection

Hygine & Desinfection Surfaces

THE RIGHT PRODUCT FOR EVERY SURFACE

After every treatment, surfaces which are close to the patient and have been contaminated through direct contact or aerosols need to be cleaned and disinfected. All suitable METASYS preparations are VAH-listed (Association for Applied Hygiene/Germany) and additionally tested for their efficacy against HBV, HIV, and HCV. All areas which are farther away from the patient and have visibly been contaminated also need to be disinfected immediately. Once per working day, all other functional surfaces of the clinically used areas of the practice need to be treated with a surface disinfection agent. For occupational safety reasons, wipe disinfection should be generally preferred over spray disinfection, except for areas that are difficult to access. (Source: RKI Guidelines)

When disinfecting surfaces, ensure that the product used is suitable for the particular material. The comprehensive GREEN&CLEAN product range offers alcoholic as well as alcohol-free disinfectants – the right product for every surface!

Hygine & Desinfection Hands

SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR STRESSED SKIN

To properly clean your hands, only liquid wash preparations and single-use towels are suitable. According to the general rules of hygiene, hands need to be cleaned after toilet use, before eating, before work area preparation, and if necessary, before surgical hand disinfection (approx. 1 min.) and after after hygienic hand disinfection. Microbially contaminated hands need to be disinfected before they are washed. A hygienic hand disinfection needs to be carried out before work area preparation in the treatment area, after work area maintenance, before putting on and after taking off gloves, before and after non-surgical treatments; forearms must also be disinfected when wearing short-sleeved protective clothing. (Source: RKI guidelines)

Frequent hand washing and disinfecting, however, can leave skin dry and brittle. This may cause microorganisms to penetrate into deeper skin layers and multiply there. Comprehensive skin care is therefore as important as proper hand disinfection. The GREEN&CLEAN product line for hands is specially designed for stressed skin. It offers not only effective protection against infection but also valuable and nourishing ingredients that protect the skin from drying out.

Hygine & Desinfection Instruments

EXTEND THEIR FUNCTIONAL LIFE

All instruments used in surgery, and even any instruments that have been laid out openly, must be considered contaminated and, without exception, subjected to hygienic reprocessing. As preparation for manual instrument reprocessing, coarse contaminants must first be removed with tissue paper or using a brush and water. If necessary, instruments should be disassembled. To prevent infection in case an injury occurs during the pre-cleaning, it is recommended to immerse the instruments in a disinfectant solution prior to the pre-cleaning. The instruments must be immersed completely and free of bubbles to ensure that all inner and outer surfaces are completely moistened. After the elapsed action time, instruments are removed from the solution and rinsed with water, checked for potential residues and dried with a single-use towel. (Source: RKI guidelines)

Proper instrument hygiene in dental practices faces new challenges every day. Taking appropriate disinfection measures using suitable products helps keep expensive dental instruments in good working order and extends their functional life. With the GREEN&CLEAN product range for instruments, METASYS provides the solution for your instrument cleaning and disinfection needs!

Hygine & Desinfection Special Areas

FOR IMPRESSIONS AND PROSTHETIC WORK PIECES

Impressions and prosthetic work pieces may only be handed over to a third party after prior disinfection. Immersion disinfection as well as automated spray disinfection are appropriate for this purpose. At least once per working day, all contaminated internal surfaces of the suction system (suction tubes) need to be disinfected. (Source: RKI guidelines)

When disinfecting impressions, make sure that the product used is suitable for the particular material. Unsuitable disinfection agents or inappropriate disinfection (action time!) can affect the form stability. For the disinfection of suction systems, preparations with defoaming qualities are especially suitable.

Hygine & Desinfection Unit Hygiene

REDUCES BACTERIA AND PROTECTS AGAINST INFECTIONS

The formation of biofilm in water pipes poses a significant health risk. Contaminated and polluted water increases the risk of infection for patients and staff. Continuous decontamination reduces bacteria and protects against infections caused by microorganisms, such as legionella. The use of a disinfection system is therefore recommended (Source: RKI guidelines). METASYS Water Decontamination systems WEK and WEK Light, in combination with GREEN&CLEAN WK, provide continuous cleaning and decontamination of all water pipes in the dental unit. This way, biofilm is reliably and completely removed. The patient is protected against infections and is not exposed to harmful chemicals.

Through the addition of limescale inhibitors, calcification in the pipe systems is prevented even at very high levels of water hardness. In addition to GREEN&CLEAN WK, METASYS also offers hydrogen peroxide-based products for dental units with disinfection systems which prescribe the use 3 % or 6 % hydrogen peroxide solutions. With GREEN&CLEAN OX 3 and OX6, calcification is also be prevented through limescale inhibitors. The H1 METASYS system is fully automatic and reduces the risk of infection through contamination of secretion-bearing pipes and filters. While suction is on, the H1 Hygiene System conducts a continuous cleaning and disinfection cycle on the parts of the suction system which are contaminated during everyday work.

DISINFECTANT FOR THE HYGIENE SYSTEM H1

In connection with the METASYS H1 hygiene system, the cleaning and disinfection preparation GREEN&CLEAN H1 guarantees economical care and disinfection of the whole suction system especially after the removal of the suction tube.
